Introducing…Chipping Campden

Ah, how I wish to be strolling along the streets of lovely Chipping Campden. Oh, you’ve never heard of this nearly magical town? Really? Wait, wait, don’t fall into an anxiety induced coma just yet! I was trying to catch your attention, and now that I have it, let me tell you that I had no idea Chipping Campden, or even the Cotswolds, existed before last month. Really! Don’t panic! This is not one of those things that everybody on earth besides you knows about. To be honest, I don’t even think Microsoft Word (yes, I still use it) knows about Chipping Campden – typing it earns you that irritating red line.

So, are you sufficiently mollified? Are your spirits restored? Have yours fears been put to rest? Good. Now, imagine that I have handed you a delicate commemorative teacup and saucer from Queen Victoria’s coronation collection. The tea is, of course, English Breakfast with cream and plenty of sugar, and oh, don’t forget, the antique Edwardian-style table on your left is holding a tray laden with chocolate digestive biscuits and candied lavender tea cakes. You’re sitting on an ornately carved armchair, facing a window that looks out onto a street lined with 14th and 15th century buildings.

This street, High Street, is the main street of Chipping Campden. Surrounded by lush, green hills dotted with leafy trees, fluffy sheep, and spotted cows, Chipping Campden is located in the Cotswold District in the English countryside. Quiet and tranquil, the town offers blanket of calm to anyone who merely strolls down its streets.  The first night we arrived, my family was worried that we would quickly run out of sights to see and places to visit in tiny Chipping Campden. To our surprise, however, every hour to two offered another adventure, and when it was time to leave, we were sorry to note that we had only grazed the surface of the town.

Our stay in Chipping Campden was lovely, and I hope we visit again soon. Until then, I’m excited to relive the especially enjoyable moments through my Adventure posts!

Until then,

Cool! I wish I wasn’t just imagining being handed a Queen Victoria Commemorative Coronation Collection cup and saucer. I actually really want them. Other then that, you have an awesome blog!
